Job summary

Champneys is seeking a Senior Chef de Partie to lead a section in a health-focused kitchen, reporting to the Head Chef. The role combines creative cookery with strong organisation and team leadership to deliver breakfast, lunch and dinner to high standards.

You will support the Sous Chef in their absence, coach junior chefs and ensure stock control, hygiene and cost efficiency while maintaining Champneys’ nourishing cuisine philosophy.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience in a similar chef role within a quality-led environment.
  • Strong knowledge of allergens, dietary requirements and nutritional standards.
  • Excellent organisation, communication and teamwork skills.
  • Understanding of food safety, hygiene and EH regulations.

Responsibilities

  • Supporting the Sous Chef and stepping up in their absence.
  • Leading, coaching and inspiring junior chefs across the kitchen.
  • Preparing and presenting dishes to exceptional standards with a focus on nutrition and well-being.
  • Managing your section—stock control, cleanliness and organisation.
  • Driving quality, consistency and continuous improvement across menus and service.
  • Ensuring full compliance with food safety, HACCP and hygiene standards.
  • Collaborating with front-of-house teams to deliver seamless guest experiences.
  • Controlling food costs, reducing waste and maximising efficiency.

About the Role

As a Senior Chef de Partie, you’ll play a key role in driving exceptional food quality and kitchen standards. Reporting to the Head Chef, you’ll support the Sous Chef and take ownership of your section, leading by example, supporting the wider team, and ensuring every dish reflects the Champneys experience.

This is a hands-on role where you’ll combine creativity, organisation, and management to deliver consistently high standards across breakfast, lunch, and dinner service.

What You’ll Be Doing
