Job summary

NHS Central East ICB is seeking a senior clinical post within the Continuing Healthcare team in the United Kingdom. The role focuses on the most complex CHC eligibility assessments, completing Decision Support Tools and rationales against the National Framework, and ensuring high quality, consistent documentation across the team.

Qualifications

• Degree or equivalent in health, care, public services or management.
• Significant post-qualification experience.
• Relevant professional qualification, or willingness to work towards one.

Responsibilities

• Undertake complex CHC assessments, completing Decision Support Tools, rationales and recommendations in line with the National Framework
• Provide senior clinical advice and guidance to CHC practitioners on challenging or ambiguous cases
• Quality-assure assessment documentation, evidence gathering and rationale writing to support consistent eligibility decisions
• Support and contribute to CHC panels, MDT meetings and case discussions, giving expert clinical input
• Act as the point of escalation for practitioners on clinical reasoning, risk issues or complex presentations
• Mentor and coach less experienced staff to build capability and confidence across the CHC team
• Identify practice variation or quality concerns and contribute to targeted improvement activity
• Work with MDTs, local authorities, providers and system partners for joined-up assessments and clear communication with individuals and families
