Job summary

HD Surveyors Ltd. is seeking a Chartered Building Surveyor to deliver project-led surveying instructions across commercial assets with hybrid working in West Sussex. Responsibilities include defect diagnosis, contract administration, and dilapidations support, handling projects up to £5m.

MRICS or progressing chartership is required, with APC support and strong client-facing skills. The role offers a clear succession path, 24 days leave, pension, and professional fees paid, plus a 10%

Qualifications

• RICS-accredited degree in Building Surveying required.
• MRICS status or actively working towards chartership.
• Experience in a private practice environment preferred.
• Proven delivery of commercial Building Surveying instructions.
• Experience across both project and professional services; strong client-facing capability.

Responsibilities

• Deliver project-led Building Surveying instructions across commercial assets.
• Undertake defect diagnosis and technical reporting.
• Act as Contract Administrator on refurbishment and maintenance schemes.
• Manage projects up to £5m in a Project Manager capacity.
• Provide dilapidations advice including negotiation and settlement strategy.
• Administer Party Wall matters in line with statutory requirements.
• Prepare reinstatement cost assessments and insurance valuations.
• Deliver planned maintenance programmes and lifecycle reporting.
• Undertake Principal Designer duties under CDM regulations.
• Support cost management instructions with internal training provided.
• Maintain direct client contact across instructions and reporting.
• Operate with increasing responsibility aligned to succession planning.
