Job Description:

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a motivated individual to join the senior nursing team as SCN/SCODP for Cardiac theatres within the Perioperative Department at the Golden Jubilee University National Hospital, where we deliver both regional and national services including Scottish Adult Congenital Cardiac Service, Scottish Advanced Heart Failure Service and the National Organ Retrieval Service.

About the Role

Our perioperative department consists of 20 theatres, including 4 dedicated to Cardiac surgery, Thoracic, Orthopaedic, and General/Colorectal surgery. As SCN/SCODP, you will manage the daily operations of the Cardiac theatres to ensure high standards of safe, effective, and person-centred care. You will develop close working relationships with Critical Care and Cath Labs.

You will focus on theatre efficiency and utilisation to support patients throughout their perioperative journey.

Strong, effective leadership skills are essential, especially through change, aligned with our values of kindness and compassion. A commitment to quality, evidence-based care, and a can-do attitude is required.

You will ensure appropriate learning opportunities for both registered and non-registered staff and prepare staff for future roles within NHS Scotland.

You will contribute to the strategic vision and plan for the hospital, aiming for excellence in service delivery for the people of Scotland.
