A leading healthcare provider in Orkney is seeking a Senior Charge Nurse/Operating Department Practitioner to lead clinical and managerial efforts in their Theatre and Day Surgery units. The role includes overseeing over 2000 procedures annually, providing exceptional care across a range of surgical specialties. Ideal candidates will be highly experienced in nursing or ODP roles. The Post:

NHS Orkney seeks a highly experienced Registered Nurse or Operating Department Practitioner (ODP) to provide clinical and managerial leadership across Theatre and Day Surgery units.

NHS Orkney’s brand-new Theatre Unit provides over 2000 procedures annually and includes both elective and emergency surgical care across several clinical specialties including: General surgery, Ophthalmology, ENT, Max Fax, trauma & elective Orthopaedics, Obstetrics & Gynae, Endoscopy, as well as damage control surgery and optimisation for onward transfer of patients to tertiary centres. The service is delivered across two theatres and a minor procedures room.
