Job Description:

NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde is one of the largest healthcare systems in the UK employing around 40,000 staff in a wide range of clinical and non-clinical professions and job roles. We deliver acute hospital, primary, community and mental health care services to a population of over 1.15 million and a wider population of 2.2 million when our regional and national services are included.

This is a permanent, full-time position with a shift pattern of Monday to Friday.

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a 37hrs Band 7 position within Ward 15 in RAH. The role involves supporting the Lead Nurse to provide Clinical Leadership and Management within the current nursing team, delivering expertise in all aspects of service delivery at a senior nurse level.

The post requires an individual who is highly motivated, demonstrates excellent leadership skills, and can use their own initiative. The ideal candidate will be open to new ideas and capable of leading an established team, developing the service and implementing change while maintaining a safe structured working environment.

The post holder will ensure that high standards of care are developed, implemented, and maintained, ensuring clinical governance adherence and aiding in the development of all staff within the department. This ensures safe and effective gold standard practice for our patients. Key skills include the ability to motivate and lead a dynamic team, acting as a senior role model to all members of the multi-disciplinary team while creating a positive learning environment.

The post holder will have demonstrable experience as a senior registered nurse in an inpatient setting and be able to communicate clearly and confidently with patients, relatives, and members of staff. Must be NMC registered with a minimum of 3 years’ experience at band 6 level.
