Job summary

BRE Group in Watford is seeking a Senior Certification Project Manager to lead physical security product evaluation, testing and certification projects within BRE’s Assurance Division. You will manage projects from enquiry through to certification delivery, ensuring compliance with LPCB, national and international standards.

The role blends technical leadership, client engagement and robust project management, with hybrid working and weekly office presence near Watford.

Qualifications

• Experience managing certification, testing, or technical assurance projects.
• Knowledge of physical security products, testing and certification processes.
• Familiarity with ISO 9001 and ISO 27001.
• Ability to develop project plans, quotations, technical proposals and certification documentation.
• Experience guiding and mentoring technical teams.

At BRE, our Physical Security team delivers world-renowned testing, evaluation, and certification services that support the protection of people, buildings, and infrastructure across the globe. We are now looking for a Senior Certification Project Manager to lead complex security product approval projects from initial enquiry through to certification delivery.

Working across national and international standards, the role plays a key part in delivering high-quality certification services and supporting the continued growth of BRE’s Physical Security capabilities.

Your role at BRE

The Senior Certification Project Manager leads the delivery of physical security product evaluation, testing, and certification projects within BRE’s Assurance Division, ensuring projects are managed efficiently and delivered in line with national, international, and LPCB standards.

Key Responsibilities and Tasks

• Delivery of all stages of evaluation and certification projects for physical security products designed to prevent manual forced entry, in accordance with a range of national and international standards, as well as LPS standards (developed by BRE) and client specifications. Such products include doorsets, enclosures, facades and walling systems.
• Oversee testing, evaluation, and certification activities in accordance with relevant standards and client specifications
• Develop test plans and coordinate project delivery to agreed timescales, budgets, and quality requirements
• Manage bespoke certification and evaluation projects on behalf of clients
• Prepare technical proposals and maintain strong client engagement throughout the project lifecycle
• Provide technical review and sign-off support for reports and certification processes
• Support and guide team members through technical leadership, training, and process oversight
• Engage with specifiers, end users, and stakeholders regarding security testing and certification activities
• Represent BRE at exhibitions, conferences, standards committees, and industry working groups
• Support the continued growth and development of BRE’s Physical Security services and certification capabilities

What we are looking for

• Strong experience managing certification, testing, or technical assurance projects within a security, certification, or compliance environment
• Understanding of physical security products, technologies, and associated testing and certification processes
• Knowledge of national, international, and LPCB standards relating to security product evaluation and certification
• Experience developing project plans, quotations, technical proposals, and certification documentation
• Ability to manage complex projects through all stages of delivery, ensuring quality, budget, and timescale requirements are met
• Experience reviewing technical reports and supporting certification decision-making processes
• Understanding of accreditation, quality management systems, and audit requirements, including ISO 9001 and ISO 27001
• Strong client engagement and stakeholder management capability
• Experience supporting, guiding, or mentoring technical team members
• Excellent organisational, communication, and project coordination skills
• Strong analytical and problem-solving capability with attention to detail
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Word and Excel
• Technical qualification in a relevant discipline, ideally degree level or equivalent practical experience
• Commitment to maintaining the quality, integrity, and reputation of ’s Physical Security certification services

Work Location Options

Hybrid – This role offers a mix of home and office working. You will need to be within commuting distance of our Watford office, as you will be expected to attend in person (Once per week).
