AXA XL in London seeks a Senior Claims Officer to manage a global portfolio of large, complex Short Tail and Specialty claims. You will handle aviation, marine, property and related exposures, with experience in ceded reinsurance and complex casualty matters.

The role requires strong technical judgment, stakeholder engagement, and the ability to escalate issues with clear analysis. You may be based in London, UK, and will work within a global team.

Qualifications

• Requires a relevant degree or professional insurance qualification.
• Experience managing large, complex Short Tail and Specialty claims.
• Robust knowledge of direct insurance and reinsurance claims, including coverage interpretation, recoverability, and net retention analysis.
• Effective analytical and quantitative skills, with ability to develop clear conclusions from complex information.
• Sound judgment handling sensitive or privileged information.
• Clear written and verbal communication across technical and senior audience.
• Outstanding stakeholder management, organisational, and prioritisation skills.
• Ability to work self-supported while collaborating within a global team.

Responsabilités

• Manage a global portfolio of large and complex Short Tail and Specialty claims self-supported.
• Analyze claim developments, coverage issues, and reinsurance arrangements to identify exposures and recovery opportunities.
• Maintain portfolio controls including diary management, financial tracking, and reporting of significant developments.
• Perform retention and recoverability analyses to assess net exposure.
• Review claim narratives and documentation for distribution to reinsurers and brokers with privacy and privilege in mind.
• Escalate material issues with clear analysis and recommendations.
• Manage inquiries and relationships with brokers, reinsurers, and internal stakeholders.
• Coordinate reinsurer claim audits and contribute technical analysis to portfolio reviews.
