Job summary

Ashdale Care Home is recruiting a Catering Team Member to support food preparation, cooking and service for residents. You will help deliver nutritious meals, plate up dishes, and maintain high kitchen cleanliness in line with safety standards.

You will work as part of a friendly team with a flexible rota and opportunities for funded QCF level 3/4 progression. A DBS check is paid for and training provided.

Qualifications

• Previous catering experience is essential.
• Food Safety Level 2 and QCF training required.
• A passion for the care industry.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and serve food in line with the weekly menu and carry out basic cooking.
• Assist with plating meals to ensure high standard and consistency.
• Prepare breakfast for residents according to individual preferences.
• Prepare supper as directed by the Senior Catering Team Member.
• Prepare tea trolleys with drinks and cakes.
• Maintain cleaning duties per the cleaning schedule to ensure a hygienic environment.
• Record and monitor fridge, freezer and hot cupboard checks per legal requirements.
• Check incoming kitchen deliveries as directed by the Senior Catering Team Member.

Contract: Permanent, up to 40 hours per week

Employment is subject to at least two satisfactory references and an enhanced DBS.

About the role…

The Catering Team Member will be responsible for providing catering support in the preparation, cooking and serving of food and drinks, and maintaining a high standard of cleanliness. The Catering Team Member will also be responsible for cleaning the kitchen and dining areas. Duties include:

Preparing and serving food in line with the weekly menu and carry out basic cooking when required.

Assisting with plating up meals, ensuring a high standard and consistency.

Preparing breakfast in accordance with the individual residents' choice.

Preparing supper as directed by the Senior Catering Team Member.

Preparing tea trolleys with a selection of drinks and cakes.

Ensuring that cleaning duties are carried out in accordance with the cleaning schedule to always provide a clean and hygienic environment.

Assisting with the recording, monitoring and checking of all fridges, freezers and hot cupboards in accordance with legal requirements.

Assisting with checking all incoming deliveries concerning the kitchen, as directed by the Senior Catering Team Member when required
