Kraken is a technology company focused on creating a smart, sustainable energy system. We are looking for a strategic and commercially minded Senior Category Manager to join our Procurement team in London. This role involves managing multiple procurement categories, building supplier and stakeholder relationships, and leading initiatives to drive value and reduce costs.

  • End-to-end category management across areas including People, Talent, Facilities, and Professional Services.
  • Developing and executing category strategies aligned with business priorities.
  • Leading procurement activities such as requests, contract renewals, and negotiations.
  • Driving supplier rationalisation and consolidation to optimise costs.
  • Partnering with functional leads and senior management to embed procurement strategies.
  • Managing supplier relationships to ensure performance and value delivery.
  • Supporting cross-functional initiatives like office growth and system rationalisation.
  • Embedding procurement best practices and policies across the business.
  • Collaborating with Legal, Security, Privacy, Finance, and other teams.
Requirements:
  • Proven experience in cross-category procurement or category management.
  • Track record of delivering cost savings and improving supplier performance.
  • Strong commercial acumen and negotiation skills.
  • Experience mitigating risks and maximizing opportunities.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
  • Strategic thinking and translating business needs into procurement actions.
  • Experience in a fast-paced, scaling environment is preferred.
