We are seeking an ambitious and driven Senior Category Manager to build and manage our Fashion product assortment, providing the best selection of items for our UK consumers at the best price. The ideal candidate will be responsible for developing and managing supplier relationships to ensure we offer the best products to our customers. This role offers a unique opportunity to build and shape the category assortment, develop category strategies and contribute to the growth of a new and dynamic e-commerce business.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Take ownership by leading both buying and selling activities for the Fashion category, covering core/basics, sports/streetwear, footwear, accessories, and luggage.
  • Develop the business with brands and suppliers, bringing industry leading companies onboard our growth journey.
  • Identify and engage potential partners, manage supplier relationships, negotiate pricing and cost efficiencies, validate fees, and ensure accurate data maintenance.
  • Curate and select category-specific products that align with consumer demand and usage scenarios.
  • Analyse key metrics and identify sourcing gaps to derive strategies on how to improve supplier and category performance.
  • Monitor and maintain optimum inventory levels to ensure ideal stock availability.
  • Develop and execute comprehensive sales strategies, including pricing structures and promotional campaigns.
  • Collaborate with international supply chain teams to secure necessary resources and support.
  • Analyse sales and procurement data to identify trends, propose improvements, and enhance gross profit margins.
  • Engage with regional and local teams to implement strategies proposed.

Qualifications:

  • Senior Merchandising or Buying experience within fashion, footwear, sportwear and/or accessories.
  • Established supplier relationships within the Fashion industry in the UK.
  • Deep understanding of the fashion consumer, with strong market insights and proven purchasing expertise.
  • Strong end-of-life and end-of-season stock and sales management to ensure optimum inventory position with minimal markdown required.
  • Experience managing seasonal buys and jumping on trends.
  • Success pitching to and onboarding new and desirable brands.
  • Exceptional analytical abilities, data sensitivity, and logical thinking.
  • Effective communicator with a passion for continuous learning.
  • Highly driven, innovative, team-oriented, and committed to aligning personal contributions with organisational goals.
