Position: Senior Category Development Manager (Grocery)

Our client, a leading multinational food and drink business, is looking for an experienced customer-facing Senior Category Development Manager to join their high-performing team.

In this pivotal role, you will shape the category vision and strategy, leveraging your expertise in shopper behaviour to drive growth across major grocery accounts. You’ll work directly with customer stakeholders while collaborating closely with internal sales teams to deliver sustainable success.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Translate the business’s category vision into tailored strategies that align with each customer’s objectives.
  • Build and nurture strong relationships with customers through regular face-to-face engagement.
  • Advise sales teams on distribution and assortment strategy, using robust data insights.
  • Deliver quarterly reports on market trends, competitor activity, and emerging opportunities.
  • Lead the range review process, ensuring alignment with brand and sales priorities.
  • Drive the successful launch and commercialisation of new products with your customers.
  • Analyse promotional activity to maximise effectiveness and ensure strong ROI.

About You:

  • Proven experience in a customer-facing category management role within the food and drink industry.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to turn insights into commercial actions.
  • Proficiency with key data tools (e.g., Nielsen, IRI, Kantar, Dunnhumby).
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
