Senior Category Buyer

Location: Hybrid Working – Kent

Contract: 12 month temporary contract

Salary: c.£500 per day inside IR35

Our client, a multinational leader in the utilities sector, is looking for experienced Category Buyers to join them on an interim basis to support during a period of change.

You will be responsible for managing the strategic sourcing of goods for categories including process plant equipment and operational and maintenance technology. You will work closely with stakeholders to ensure the successful delivery of contracted activities, identifying continuous improvement opportunities through engagement with suppliers and stakeholders, and maximizing value for money from contracts.

The successful candidate will have a proven track record assessing and negotiating complex commercial contracts, both new and existing, and will have the ability to build and manage complex commercial assessment models. You will have previous experience leading the procurement of goods in construction, facilities management, or mechanical and electrical services. Previous experience developing strategic sourcing strategies within a regulated environment is desirable but not essential.
