Job description

We are looking for a Senior Catchment Analyst to join Thames Water on a permanent basis.

We are seeking a highly motivated analyst with expertise in wastewater networks, ideally with a background in pollution, flooding, and blockage management. You will have experience in planning or analyzing work to determine and deliver operational interventions.

Working within our Environmental Performance team, you will be part of a team whose purpose is to proactively prevent the escape of sewage from our wastewater network.

As the Senior Catchment Analyst, you will be an integral part of the team that drives performance in this area, working with our contract partners and other team members. Through engagement across Thames Water, you will help reduce the number of sewage spills by creating, managing, and analyzing work carried out by field teams.

What you will be doing as a Senior Catchment Analyst

  1. Supporting and providing technical direction for the TCI analysts within the team.
  2. Overseeing contractor performance when your line manager is on leave to ensure the programme stays on track.
  3. Delivering the Targeted Catchment Investigations (TCI) workstream to reduce pollution, sewer flooding, and blockages from Thames Water's wastewater network.
  4. Analyzing previous pollution, flooding, and blockages to determine root causes and creating work packs for field investigations.
  5. Acting as the key technical interface with field teams, directing activities within the field.
  6. Analyzing investigation outputs to determine resolutions and directing these either through TCI field teams or other departments.
  7. Recording and analyzing the success of activities for performance reporting and process improvement.
  8. Managing customer liaison during work on customer premises, keeping customers informed and minimizing disruption.
  9. Liaising with regional and central teams to ensure alignment of the TCI workstream.

What should you bring to the role?

  • A passion to improve environmental performance.
  • Experience in a similar role or industry.
  • Experience in planning or analyzing technical or field operations.
  • Ability to influence and collaborate across all organizational levels.
  • Qualification in an environmental, science, data, mathematical, or engineering discipline.
  • Full driving license, as travel is required.

What’s in it for you?

  • Salary from £44,225 per annum.
  • 26 days holiday, increasing to 30 with service, plus bank holidays.
  • Access to discounts, cashback, and vouchers through Benefits on Tap.
  • Generous pension scheme through AON.
  • Enhanced maternity and paternity leave benefits.
  • Ongoing performance development reviews.
