Job Description:

At WTW, we believe difference makes us stronger. We want our workforce to reflect the different and varied markets we operate in and to build a culture of inclusivity that makes colleagues feel welcome, valued and empowered to bring their whole selves to work every day. We are an equal opportunity employer committed to fostering an inclusive work environment throughout our organisation. We embrace all types of diversity.

The Role

In this role, the individual will work closely with Brokers in the Global Markets Direct and Facultative team. The individual will be required to offer a wide range of analytical services including data management, catastrophe modelling, exposure management, financial modelling, and bespoke analytics. The focus of our service is to provide Brokers with a deeper understanding of their clients’ risk from natural and man-made perils such as windstorm, earthquake, severe convective storm, flood and wildfire.

On a day-to-day basis, the successful candidate will be involved in processing and auditing client data, running client portfolios against internal and external computer models, and synthesising the results. You will be required to take a methodical approach to problem solving and be comfortable with IT. Joining the company with an engineering, maths or natural sciences degree (ideally Masters), they also require the ability to effectively communicate technical detail internally and to external clients who do not necessarily have technical knowledge of the subject.

Principle Duties

  • Managing, auditing, processing and analysing portfolio data
  • Preparation of data for modelling
  • Quantify the catastrophe risk using vendor catastrophe models
  • Operation of geo-visualisation tools including Arc GIS
  • Contribute to the Global Markets Direct and Fac Analytics service offering development
  • Understand and evaluate the impact of updates and revisions to models and the outputs produced
  • Communicate results effectively to all stakeholders (cat modellers, brokers, clients, (re)insurers)
  • Work closely with all stakeholders throughout all aspects of the risk quantification process
  • Real-time reporting and analysis of natural disasters and supporting clients’ post-event
  • Support junior members in the team through training and advice.
