Job description

Primary Responsibilities:

  1. Perform validation of hazard and vulnerability components of the major peril models and evaluate new models and datasets.
  2. Examine model version changes.
  3. Develop the Arch View of Risk framework for use across the organization.
  4. Assist in the implementation of innovative tools supporting our post-event response and reserving.
  5. Evaluate 3rd-party data and develop standards for use across business units.
  6. Support meteorological needs within Arch.
  7. Analyze claim data and make recommendations based on event information.

Qualifications:

  1. 5+ years of commercial catastrophe modeling experience.
  2. Expertise in 3rd-party catastrophe model vendor platforms (AIR, KCC).
  3. Expert-level knowledge of natural weather perils.
  4. Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  5. Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, SQL.
  6. Experience with Python, R or geospatial tools (ESRI) is a plus.

Estimated Travel: up to 10%
