We currently offer an excellent opportunity for a Senior Casualty Underwriter in our London Treaty team.

Main Purpose of the Role

In this role, you will be responsible for risk assessment and underwriting in the Casualty sector, including Public and Product Liability, Employers Liability, and Financial Lines. Reporting to the London Treaty Chief Underwriter, you will manage reinsurance business in accordance with underwriting authorities and client strategies.

Your Job Responsibilities
  • Underwriting and accepting Casualty treaties, including premium calculation and deciding on terms and conditions in accordance with the underwriting guidelines, internal directives, targets, and client strategies;
  • Conducting negotiations and supporting in maintaining relationships with clients and brokers;
  • Servicing client accounts and exploring new business potential;
  • Administering the contracts assigned, including exposure monitoring and liability/accumulation assessment;
  • Performing result and portfolio analysis and preparing line of business reports;
  • Developing and implementing strategies for the London Casualty Treaty book; participating in planning and control activities;
  • Participating in reviews, staff training, and supporting local and international projects and market events.
Your Profile
  • University degree in economics, sciences (mathematics/statistics), or law-related discipline;
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in Casualty insurance and knowledge of reinsurance;
  • Proficiency with IT systems, underwriting, rating tools, and risk modelling;
  • Excellent team skills, business development, negotiation, and communication abilities;
  • Strong entrepreneurial spirit, proactive, and capable of working under pressure with multitasking skills;
  • Willingness to travel, with the position based in London.
