Race Leys Infant School is seeking a Senior Caretaker to join their team, ensuring a safe and clean environment for children aged 4-7. This role involves a variety of maintenance responsibilities and the chance to work in a supportive school atmosphere, with professional development and training opportunities available.
About Us & The Role
At Race Leys Infant School, we cater for children from 4 years to 7 years. We are a happy, forward thinking school, passionate about ensuring all children have access to the highest quality education in a safe and stimulating environment.
We have a fantastic opportunity for an enthusiastic, reliable and hardworking individual to join our friendly school team as a Senior Caretaker. We are looking for someone who is conscientious and self-motivated to provide a key role in maintaining our schools to ensure a clean, safe, and secure learning environment for our pupils and the local community.
The ideal candidate will ideally have experience in a caretaker or site maintenance type role within a school environment or other business premises but is not essential as training can be given.
The successful candidate will also be required to act as a key holder. The school is occasionally used outside of school hours by an outside organisation which you may be required to open and lock up after and for which additional pay would be given.
The hours of work are 30 hours per week. This is usually a split shift role with a total of 6 hours per day Monday to Friday, worked as 3 hours 6.30am – 9.30am and 3 hours 2.30pm – 5.30pm. There may be flexibility around the advertised hours in order to meet the needs of the school for the right candidate.
The role is a full time permanent contract over 52 weeks per year. An annual leave allowance of between 21 days – 26 days is available (dependant on local government length of service) plus 12 additional days which includes the 8 public bank holidays and 4 extra local authority days. Annual leave is to be taken during school holiday dates with prior agreement with the Senior Leadership Team.
