Job Description:

Main purpose of the role: Senior Carers ensure timely and effective supervision, conduct regular medication audits, liaise with care coordinators to manage rotas, and carry out general audits to maintain CQC standards.

Support care support workers and mobile breakdown care support workers to meet the personal and domestic care needs of service users during absences.

Core responsibilities:
  • Provide support to community-based Care Support Workers, including audits and mentoring.
  • Promote compassionate care, maintaining dignity and independence of service users.
  • Mentor new care support workers during their initial 12 weeks.
  • Contribute to service monitoring, evaluation, and reviews.
  • Conduct supervisions with care support workers.
  • Collaborate with other teams to address care concerns promptly.
  • Develop positive relationships with service users and families, offering reassurance and information.
Continuity of Service:
  • Provide care during shifts as allocated, working with office teams to minimize service disruptions.
  • Communicate effectively with office teams.
  • Deliver person-centred care respecting individual needs, cultural, spiritual, and religious considerations.
  • Follow risk assessments and health and safety procedures.
  • Occasionally provide direct personal care in accordance with individual care plans.
  • Work with health and social care professionals to meet and adapt to care needs.
  • Maintain detailed, accurate records of care activities and concerns.
  • Adhere to policies regarding access to service users’ properties and reporting issues.
Skills and Experience:
  • Level 3 qualification in health and social care or willingness to attain it.
  • Experience in a social care setting.
  • Full driver’s license and private vehicle for work.
  • Enhanced DBS check.
  • Comfortable using smartphones and apps.
  • Commitment to quality, customer service, and best practices.
