What will you be doing?

As a Senior Night Care & Support Assistant, you’ll lead in supporting individuals to gain independence, helping them regain confidence, reach their goals, and retain skills. Your responsibilities include:

  1. Supporting individuals to make choices about their personal care and needs, encouraging good nutrition, hydration, and social engagement.
  2. Ensuring clear and accurate documentation, reporting concerns to the Shift Leader or Nurse on duty.
  3. Enriching residents’ lives to feel safe, secure, and noticed.
  4. Supporting residents to be themselves and encouraging their comfort while respecting their living space.
  5. Participating in arts, crafts, and stimulating activities.
  6. Assisting residents with washing, dressing, manual handling, and personal care.
  7. Providing medication support in a timely manner.
  8. Liaising with health professionals.
  9. Reporting concerns or incidents to senior team members.
  10. Organizing and participating in community activities.

About you

As a senior carer, you will ideally have an NVQ Level 2 in Health & Social Care or similar experience. We offer a minimum of 2.5 weeks induction training plus a 2-4 week "Buddy scheme" to help you settle in. The role is subject to an enhanced DBS check, and West Northamptonshire Council is committed to safeguarding.
