Job summary

CrossReach in Scotland is seeking a Senior Care Worker to blend hands-on care with leadership, guiding colleagues to deliver high standards of care.

You will support residents with daily living, lead shifts, mentor staff, and ensure medication safety, care plans, and accurate records. A PVG scheme membership and SSSC registration are required, with SVQ Level 3 and progress towards SVQ Level 4. This role is shift-based.

Qualifications

• SVQ Level 3 in Social Services and Healthcare is required.
• Willingness to work towards SVQ Level 4.
• Membership of the PVG Scheme and registration with SSSC.

Job description

Great care starts with great leadership. As a Senior Care Worker, you'll help ensure residents receive the highest standards of care while supporting and encouraging colleagues to deliver their best every day.

What your day could look like

• Support residents with personal care and daily living activities
• Lead shifts and coordinate care delivery
• Mentor and support less experienced colleagues
• Administer medication safely and accurately
• Monitor residents' wellbeing and respond to changing needs
• Contribute to assessments, care plans and reviews
• Maintain accurate records and ensure compliance with procedures

Please note this role is shift work, and will require you to work 2 out of 3 weekends.

About you

You will have experience working in a care setting and a strong understanding of person-centred care. You'll be organised, dependable and confident supporting colleagues while maintaining high standards of care and professionalism. You must hold an SVQ Level 3 in Social Services and Healthcare and be willing to work towards, or already hold, an SVQ Level 4 qualification. This role requires membership of the PVG Scheme and registration with the SSSC.
