Job summary

Nurse Seekers is recruiting a Senior Care Assistant for a welcoming residential home in Weston-super-Mare. You will support older people, including those living with dementia, delivering high‑quality, person‑centred care and leading the care team when on duty.

This permanent role offers varied shifts including 8:00am–8:00pm, 8:00am–2:00pm or 2:00pm–8:00pm, with on‑call requirements. Pay is £13.50 per hour DOE. Prior senior care experience and safeguarding knowledge are preferred.

Qualifications

• Experience as Senior Care Assistant or similar role.
• Ability to deliver hands-on care.
• Knowledge of safeguarding and care documentation preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate the care team when on duty.
• Support, guide and supervise Care Assistants.
• Deliver high-quality, hands-on personal care.
• Administer medication and maintain records.
• Support residents with daily living, mobility, meals and activities.
• Contribute to care plans, risk assessments and documentation.
• Communicate effectively with residents, relatives and healthcare professionals.
• Respond appropriately to emergencies and changes in residents’ needs.
• Support new staff with induction and development.
• Promote safeguarding, dignity, independence and residents’ wellbeing.
