Job summary

Avery Healthcare is seeking a Senior Care Assistant - Nights for Westwood Cre Home in Sheringham. You will work with the care team to deliver high standards of personal care in a safe, supportive environment for residents, visitors and staff.

You will monitor wellbeing, contribute to person-centred care plans, assist with medications and support staff development. A DBS check and eligibility to work in the UK are required.

Qualifications

• NVQ3 or equivalent in care for care homes.
• 2 years’ experience in a similar care environment.
• Excellent written and verbal communication.
• Positive, proactive attitude towards residents and staff.
• Reliable and flexible to cover night shifts.

Responsibilities

• Support the Care team to deliver high standards of personal care.
• Monitor residents’ wellbeing and update care plans accordingly.
• Assist with residents’ medication requirements.
• Undertake staff supervisions and support development where required.
• Be a point of contact for residents, families and care professionals, escalating concerns as needed.

About The Role

Your focus as a Senior Care Assistant will be to support and work alongside the Care team to deliver high standards of personal care, providing a safe, caring, innovative, open, supportive, and inclusive environment for residents, visitors and staff.

Other Responsibilities Will Include

• Monitoring the wellbeing of each resident, being aware of any change impacting on care and care plans, ensuring that new needs are met, and written records are amended to reflect any variation.
• Being involved in the person-centred care planning process, by implementing, monitoring, and undertaking monthly evaluations.
• Supporting residents with their medication requirements.
• Undertaking staff supervisions and supporting staff with their development where required.
• Acting as a key point for contact with residents, their relatives and visitors, as well as health and social care professionals involved in their wellbeing, ensuring that any reasonable requests are acted upon, and concerns or complaints are escalated.

Our Ideal Candidate Must

• Have an NVQ 3 or equivalent in care for care homes.
• Have 2 years’ experience working in similar care environment.
• Have the ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
• Have a positive attitude to both supporting and nurturing residents and staff.
• Be responsive and flexible to cover a range of responsibilities.
