Job description

Limefield Residential House is a supportive environment dedicated to providing exceptional care to our residents. We pride ourselves on our caring approach and maintaining a positive, uplifting atmosphere for both staff and residents. As one of our Senior Care Assistants, you will play a crucial role in ensuring our team delivers high-quality care tailored to each individual's needs.

In this position, you will be responsible for overseeing daily care routines and mentoring junior staff. You will act as a key professional in the support of residents, ensuring that their personal care needs are met and that they feel valued and respected. Your leadership will help foster a compassionate environment where residents thrive and feel at home.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide high-quality personal care to residents, including assistance with personal hygiene, mobility, and daily living activities.
  • Lead and mentor a team of care assistants, ensuring best practices are upheld.
  • Monitor and report any changes in residents' health and well-being to the management team.
  • Assist in the administration of medications as directed by healthcare professionals.
  • Support the implementation of care plans, ensuring they are tailored to the individual needs of residents.
  • Facilitate engaging activities that promote social interaction and well-being among residents.

To excel in this role as a Senior Care Assistant, you should possess the following:

  • Experience working in a residential care setting, ideally with a minimum of 2 years in a similar position.
  • Level 3 qualification in Health and Social Care is essential.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to connect with residents and their families.
  • A strong understanding of person-centered care approaches.
  • Leadership qualities with the ability to supervise and support other care staff.
  • Knowledge of medication management and monitoring resident health needs.
  • Flexibility and a positive attitude toward teamwork and challenges.

Our contracts are shifted to 33 hours per week and ideally run across 3 long days from 8am-8pm. There is also a possibility of overtime. We can look to increasing this to 38.5 hours per week if you were keen to work 3 days first week and then 4 days in the following. Starting pay rates for a senior are £12.55 rising to £13.3 when offered Team Leader recognition.
