Job summary

Buchanan House Care Home is recruiting a Senior Care Assistant to lead a shift and deliver high-quality, person-centred care for residents. You will guide the team, oversee medications, monitor wellbeing and ensure seamless communication with families and healthcare professionals.

The role requires SVQ Level 2 in Health & Social Care (Level 3 desirable or willingness to progress), and essential medication administration competency.

Qualifications

• SVQ Level 2 in Health & Social Care minimum; Level 3 desirable or willingness to work towards.
• Medication administration training with competency is essential.
• Experience supporting or leading a care team is beneficial.
• Strong communication and leadership skills.
• Caring, compassionate and professional approach.

Responsibilities

• Guide and support the team in delivering safe, high-quality, person-centred care.
• Oversee medication administration and monitor residents’ wellbeing.
• Ensure care is well organised, consistent and delivered to a high standard.
• Maintain accurate care records and communicate with families and healthcare professionals.
• Promote safety and continuity of care across shifts.
