Job summary

Elizabeth Finn Homes Merlewood Care Home in Virginia Water is seeking a compassionate Senior Care Assistant (days) to support the nursing and care team in delivering high-quality, person-centred care. You will help residents meet individual needs with dignity and respect, promoting independence and acting as a role model for junior staff.

Qualifications

• Secondary school education with good numeracy and literacy.
• Ability to communicate clearly in English.
• Level 2 and 3 in Care.
• Minimum 3 years experience caring for older people.
• Understanding of professional Codes of Practice in social care
• Basic computer literacy for record-keeping and communication

Responsibilities

• Deliver and maintain high standards of personal care, ensuring effective teamwork and quality service delivery.
• Carry out clinical procedures within scope, following guidance from the Registered Nurse or Head of Department.
• Monitor residents' health and wellbeing, reporting any changes or concerns promptly.
• Support residents' physical, mental, and social engagement through meaningful activities and interaction.
• Maintain a safe, clean, and comfortable environment, ensuring proper use and storage of equipment and supplies.
• Contribute to accurate record-keeping, uphold confidentiality, and comply with policies, training, and reporting requirements.
