Senior Care Assistant

Are you a Senior Care Assistant looking to further develop your skills? Our Senior Care Assistants play a key role in ensuring each person living within our homes receives the care they need to live a fulfilling life.

Rates of pay:

  • NVQ level 2 in Health and Social Care: £12.81 per hour
  • NVQ level 3 in Health and Social Care: £13.80 per hour

Introduction to the role

As a Senior Care Assistant, you will be responsible for assessing individual needs and formulating person-centred care plans, ensuring that medical, physical, and emotional needs are met. Administering medication safely is paramount, and all our senior care assistants are provided with additional training to ensure competency and knowledge of the medications used in our homes.

You should have previous care experience, preferably within Older People’s care or a dementia setting. It is preferable to hold a Level 3 qualification in Health and Social Care. However, if you are qualified to Level 2, we will support you to achieve Level 3 through our career pathway.

Main Duties

  • Assess, plan, deliver, and evaluate high standards of personalised nursing care that meet individuals’ needs and the high standards expected at Orchard Care Homes.
  • Ensure individuals are treated with respect and dignity, with their rights to privacy, independence, and choice upheld.
  • Lead, supervise, support, and develop the care team as a team player.
  • Maintain excellent communication and interpersonal skills when liaising with external professionals, individuals, and relatives.
