This Senior Care Assistant role at a Barchester care home offers an opportunity to supervise and inspire a team of dedicated Care Assistants, while also supporting the clinical team in various areas. You will be responsible for ensuring the different needs of the residents are met, delivering quality, person-centred care and support, and creating a warm, welcoming, and vibrant environment.

Main duties of the job

As a Senior Care Assistant, you will be responsible for supervising and inspiring a team of Care Assistants, as well as supporting the clinical team in specific areas such as medication, assessments, care plans, or care reviews. You will be expected to respect the dignity and preferences of the residents while contributing to the creation of a positive and engaging environment. The role requires an NVQ Level 3 or Advanced Diploma in Health & Social Care, along with specific knowledge of clinical care for the elderly.

You can also expect to support the clinical team in a specific area, such as medication, assessments, care plans or care reviews. ABOUT YOU You should have an NVQ Level 3 or Advanced Diploma in Health & Social Care to join us as a Senior Care Assistant. We'll also need to see that you have specific knowledge of clinical care for the elderly. We're looking for people who are warm-hearted, compassionate and committed to giving each resident individualised care and support. You'll have the opportunity to develop your career through ongoing training opportunities, so there's no limit to how far you can go with us. Many of our Senior Carer Assistants progress into Care Practitioner, Regional Carer or nursing roles.
