Job summary

Avery Healthcare Group is hiring a Senior Care Assistant for Scholars Mews Care Home in Stratford-upon-Avon. You will support the care team to deliver high standards of personal care in a safe, compassionate environment for residents and families.

You will monitor wellbeing, assist with care plans, and support medication needs. Experience in similar care settings is preferred; NVQ level 3 or equivalent is required; DBS disclosure will be arranged by Avery.

Qualifications

• NVQ 3 or equivalent in care for care homes.
• 2 years’ experience in similar care environment.
• Strong communication skills, both verbally and in writing.
• Positive attitude and ability to support and nurture residents and staff.
• Flexibility to cover a range of responsibilities.

Responsibilities

• Deliver high standards of personal care and create a safe, caring environment for residents, visitors and staff.
• Monitor residents’ wellbeing and reflect changes in care plans.
• Contribute to person-centred care planning, monitor and evaluate monthly care plans.
• Support residents with medication requirements.
• Conduct staff supervisions and support staff development when required.
• Be a key contact for residents, relatives, and health and social care professionals; escalate concerns or complaints.

ABOUT THE ROLE

Your focus as a Senior Care Assistant will be to support and work alongside the Care team to deliver high standards of personal care, providing a safe, caring, innovative, open, supportive, and inclusive environment for residents, visitors and staff. Other responsibilities will include: Monitoring the wellbeing of each resident, being aware of any change impacting on care and care plans, ensuring that new needs are met, and written records are amended to reflect any variation. Being involved in the person-centred care planning process, by implementing, monitoring, and undertaking monthly evaluations. Supporting residents with their medication requirements. Undertaking staff supervisions and supporting staff with their development where required. Acting as a key point for contact with residents, their relatives and visitors, as well as health and social care professionals involved in their wellbeing, ensuring that any reasonable requests are acted upon, and concerns or complaints are escalated.
