Job summary

Avery Healthcare Group is seeking a warm, enthusiastic Senior Care Assistant for Derby Heights Care Home in Littleover, Derby. You will work with the care team to provide compassionate personal care, maintain safety, and support residents, families, and staff.

The role requires NVQ 3 or equivalent, two years’ experience in a similar setting, strong communication skills, and flexibility. A DBS check and UK work eligibility are required; join our award-winning team delivering exceptional care.

Qualifications

  • Have an NVQ 3 or equivalent in care for care homes.
  • Have 2 years’ experience working in similar care environment.
  • Have the ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
  • Have a positive attitude to both supporting and nurturing residents and staff.
  • Be responsive and flexible to cover a range of responsibilities.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver high standards of personal care as part of the care team in a safe, caring and inclusive environment.
  • Monitor the wellbeing of residents and update care plans and records as needs change.
  • Be involved in the person-centred care planning process, with monthly evaluations.
  • Support residents with their medication requirements.
  • Undertake staff supervision and support staff development where required.

ABOUT THE ROLE

Your focus as a Senior Care Assistant will be tosupportand work alongside the Care team to deliver high standards of personal care, providing a safe, caring, innovative, open,supportive, andinclusiveenvironment for residents, visitors and staff.Other responsibilitieswillinclude:Monitoringthe wellbeing of each resident, being aware of any changeimpactingon care and care plans, ensuring that new needs aremet,and written records are amended to reflect any variation.Beinginvolved in the person-centred care planning process, by implementing,monitoring,and undertaking monthly evaluations.Supporting residents with their medication requirements.Undertaking staff supervisions and supporting staff with their development where required.Actingas a key point for contact with residents, theirrelativesand visitors, as well as health and social care professionals involved in their wellbeing, ensuring that any reasonable requests are actedupon,and concerns or complaints are escalated.
