Looking for your next step in care? Join our amazing team and lead the way!

At Derwent, we’re searching for an experienced Senior Care Practitioner to help guide our incredible care team and support our residents in living happy, healthy and independent lives. If you’ve got experience in care and have previously helped to supervise a team, this could be the perfect role for you.

What’s the job about?

As a Senior Carer, you’ll combine hands-on care with supervisory duties. It’s all about ensuring that every resident receives the very best care while mentoring and supporting your colleagues to be their best. Here’s a flavour of what you’ll be doing:

  • Coaching and mentoring your team so they’re confident and skilled in every part of their role.
  • Supporting residents with a range of personal care needs, while making sure dignity, respect, and privacy are always maintained.
  • Ensuring every resident has a comprehensive and up-to-date care plan that reflects their needs, and making sure your team follows it to the letter.
  • Dispensing medication with accuracy and care, keeping detailed records as you go.

This role is a mix of hands-on care and supervisory responsibilities, so you’ll need to feel comfortable juggling tasks while always keeping our residents’ happiness and wellbeing at the heart of what you do.

Why join us?

We know how important our Senior Carers are, so we make sure you feel appreciated and supported. Here’s what we offer:

  • £500 in recognition payments during your first year with us.
  • Unlimited £1,000 ‘Refer a Friend’ bonus.
  • Fully funded training and qualifications including opportunities to develop your leadership skills.
  • Annual pay reviews.
  • Private healthcare options to help with costs like dental or optical treatments.
  • A caring, supportive workplace where you can thrive.

Our recruitment process

If you’re offered a role with us, it will be conditional on some standard checks, like references and a Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check. We also need you to have good English and numeracy skills, plus a passion for caring and helping our residents to thrive.

We want every candidate to feel supported and able to perform at their best during the recruitment process. If you need any assistance or would like to request a reasonable adjustment at any stage, just drop us an email at [emailprotected] - we’ll be happy to help.

At Mariposa Care, we’re committed to building a fair and inclusive workplace. We welcome applications from everyone, no matter your age, gender, gender identity or expression, religion, belief, disability, ethnicity, or sexual orientation.
