Job summary

Gittisham Hill House Care Home is seeking a Senior Care Assistant to lead a team in delivering high-quality, person-centred care for residents in Honiton, Devon. You will oversee shifts, ensure safe and well-organised care, and support wellbeing while maintaining clear records and liaising with families and healthcare professionals.

The role requires NVQ 2 in Health & Social Care (Level 3 desirable) and medication administration competency; DBS paid, pension, uniform provided.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 2 in Health & Social Care (minimum).
• Level 3 desirable or willingness to work towards.
• Medication administration training with competency is essential.
• Experience supporting or leading a care team is beneficial.
• Strong communication and leadership skills; caring and professional approach.

Responsibilities

About Gittisham Hill House Care Home

Gittisham Hill House Care Home is a 38 bed care home set within the peaceful surroundings of Gittisham Hill Park in Honiton, Devon. Providing residential, nursing and dementia care, the home offers a welcoming and family focused environment with bright living spaces, landscaped gardens and comfortable areas for Residents to relax, socialise and enjoy their interests. Colleagues work as part of a caring and experienced team to provide personalised support and high quality care that makes a real difference to Residents.

Senior Care Assistant Contract

• £15.70 to £16.30 per hour


• Contracted to 44 hours per week


• Paid DBS, pension, uniform provided


• 5.6 weeks annual leave (based on a full time contract)

Role Overview

As Senior Care Assistant, you will guide and support your team in delivering safe, high quality, person centred care that makes a real difference every day to our residents.

You will take responsibility for the smooth running of your shift, ensuring care is well organised, consistent and delivered to a high standard. Alongside providing hands on care, you will oversee medication, monitor residents’ wellbeing and respond to any changes, ensuring care remains safe and appropriate.

You will maintain accurate care records and work closely with colleagues, families and healthcare professionals to ensure clear communication and continuity of care.

We Are Looking For
