Job Description - Senior Care Assistant

Introduction

Premier Court Care Home, Thorley Lane East, Thorley, Bishops Stortford CM23 4BH, is seeking a Senior Care Assistant to join their team. The successful candidate will be responsible for driving a team of Care Assistants to deliver high-quality, personal care to residents.

The home is dedicated to delivering person-centred care, supporting independence, and honouring choice to help residents live their best lives. As a Senior Care Assistant, you will play a crucial role in inspiring, developing, and nurturing your team to be their best every day.

Responsibilities

Day-to-day responsibility for running a unit, including supporting with clinical duties, such as observing, issuing medication, reviewing care plans, and accurate record keeping.

Driving and managing a team of Care Assistants, including responsible for all shift handovers of the teams.

  • Helping with training and supervision of new staff members so they feel welcomed and supported
  • Building relationships with residents, their families, and external teams such as GPs and District Nurses
  • Assisting residents with a range of personal care duties
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need to have completed or be working towards an NVQ3 in care. You should be motivated, positive, and have great interpersonal skills, with a passion for making a real difference to people’s lives.

  • Previous experience in a similar role, with knowledge of its rewards and challenges
  • Ability to work in a close-knit team and support the Nurse with clinical duties
  • Strong communication and leadership skills
