Job summary

Bupa UK is seeking a Senior Care Assistant at Aston Court Care Home in Little Aston, Sutton Coldfield. You will lead a team of Care Assistants, support nurses with clinical duties, and ensure high-quality, person-centred care for residents.

You will train new staff, build strong relationships with residents and families, and contribute to delivering compassionate care. Permanent contract with weekend shifts and a salary of £12.90–£14.51 per hour.

Qualifications

• Must have completed / working towards an NVQ3 in care.
• Motivated, positive, with great interpersonal skills and able to work in a close-knit team.
• Experience in the role and understanding of its rewards and challenges, with a passion for making a difference.

Responsibilities

• Day-to-day responsibility for running a unit.
• Support with clinical duties, observing, issuing medication, reviewing care plans and keeping accurate records.
• Drive and manage a team of Care Assistants, including handovers and supervision.

You’ll Help Us Make Health Happen By

• Day-to-day responsibility for running a unit
• Supporting with clinical duties, including supporting the nurse to observe, issue medication, review care plans and accurate record keeping
• Driving and managing a team of Care Assistants, including responsible for all shift handovers of the teams
• Helping with training and supervision of new staff members so they feel welcomed and supported
• Building relationships with residents, their families and external teams such as GPs and District Nurses
• Assisting residents with a range of personal care duties

Key Skills / Qualifications Needed For This Role

• You’ll have completed / working towards an NVQ3 in care. We’re more than happy to support you in the completion of your qualification if needed.
• You're motivated, positive and with great interpersonal skills, and you enjoy working in a close-knit team. You’re pivotal in running a unit, working with the Nurse to aid with clinical duties for the home.
• You have previous experience of the role and knowledge of its rewards and challenges. Just as importantly, you also have a passion for making a real difference to people’s lives, giving them the kindness, personalised support and dignity they need.
