Job summary

Bupa UK is hiring a Senior Care Assistant for Edmund House Care Home in Scunthorpe. The role offers permanent shifts (day and night) with alternate weekends on a rotating rota.

You will lead a team of care assistants, manage medications, and help develop and train staff while fostering strong relationships with residents and their families.

Qualifications

• As a Senior Care Assistant you will lead and develop a team, requiring strong people skills and a caring approach.
• You’ll apply clinical knowledge to support CQC responsibilities and ensure quality of care.

Responsibilities

• Day-to-day responsibility for running a unit.
• Issuing medication, reviewing care plans and accurate record keeping.
• Leading and managing a team of Care Assistants, including handovers.
• Training and supervision of new staff to ensure welcome and support.
• Building relationships with residents, families and external teams like GPs.
• Assisting residents with personal care tasks.

You’ll Help Us Make Health Happen By

• Day-to-day responsibility for running a unit
• Responsible for issuing medication, reviewing care plans and accurate record keeping
• Leading and managing a team of Care Assistants, including responsibility for all shift handovers of the teams
• Helping with training and supervision of new staff members so they feel welcomed and supported
• Building relationships with residents, their families and external teams such as GPs and District Nurses
• Assisting residents with a range of personal care duties

Key Skills / Qualifications Needed For This Role

• You’ll have completed / working towards an NVQ3 in care. We’re more than happy to support you in the completion of your qualification if needed.
• You’re motivated, positive, have great interpersonal skills, and you enjoy working in a close-knit team. Your clinical expertise is crucial in helping with CQC responsibilities.
• You have previous experience of the role and knowledge of its rewards and challenges. Just as importantly, you also have a passion for making a real difference to people’s lives, giving them the kindness, personalised support and dignity they need.
