Job summary

Coopers Croft Care Home in Stoke-on-Trent is seeking a Senior Care Assistant to lead the on-shift team and deliver high-quality, person-centred care for residents. You will supervise daily routines, support medication administration, and ensure accurate care records while liaising with families and healthcare professionals.

This contract offers £14.35–£14.95 per hour, 38.5 hours per week, paid DBS, pension, uniform provided, and extensive opportunities for learning and progression.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 2 in Health & Social Care is required (minimum).
• Level 3 or willingness to work towards is desirable.
• Medication administration training with competency is essential.
• Experience supporting or leading a care team is beneficial.

Senior Care Assistant Contract

• £14.35 to £14.95 per hour
• Contracted to 38.5 hours per week
• Paid DBS, pension, uniform provided
• 5.6 weeks annual leave (based on a full time contract)

Role Overview

As Senior Care Assistant, you will guide and support your team in delivering safe, high quality, person centred care that makes a real difference every day to our residents.

You will take responsibility for the smooth running of your shift, ensuring care is well organised, consistent and delivered to a high standard. Alongside providing hands on care, you will oversee medication, monitor residents’ wellbeing and respond to any changes, ensuring care remains safe and appropriate.

You will maintain accurate care records and work closely with colleagues, families and healthcare professionals to ensure clear communication and continuity of care.
