Job summary

Right at Home Stevenage is recruiting a Senior Care Assistant to support the Care Manager in delivering high-quality care with 45-minute visits. You will mentor staff, onboard new clients, provide hands-on care, and handle essential office tasks. Live locally to Stevenage and surrounding areas.

You will need hands-on care experience, a UK driving licence, and be ready for flexible hours. We offer competitive pay, mileage, travel time, and extensive training with clear progression paths.

Qualifications

• 12+ months hands-on care experience.
• Level 2 QCF/NVQ or NVQ equivalent preferred.
• Good communication (verbal and written) in English.
• UK driving licence with access to a car.

Responsibilities

• Mentor and develop the Care Team.
• Ensure Care Plans are accurate and updated.
• Perform CareGiver spot checks.
• Shadow training for new CareGivers.
• Ensure policies and procedures are followed.
• Be flexible and take on-call duties on a rotation.

Role Overview

As a Senior Carer, you will support the Care Manager to ensure our Care Assistants deliver exceptional care during a minimum of 45-minute visits. Your role will include mentoring staff, support of onboarding new clients, delivering hands‑on care, and completing essential office tasks.

Key Responsibilities

• Mentoring and development of the Care Team

• Building relationships with client families and care professionals

Desirable

• 12+ months hands‑on care experience
• Working towards or holding Level 2 QCF/NVQ (preferred, not essential)
• Upbeat verbal, written and face to face communication style
• UK driving licence with access to a car (Essential)

Progression

• We promote from within where possible, offering training and development for those looking to progress into roles such as Care Coordinator, Care Supervisor, or Care Manager.

Requirements of a SeniorCare Assistant:

• Must hold a full and valid UK or EU/EEA driving licence and have access to own vehicle
• Be able to offer availability either early mornings (from 7am), afternoon (from 2pm) and every other weekend
• Commit to attending a 3-day training course
• Live locally to Stevenage, Letchworth & Hitchinand surrounding areas
• Have or be willing to obtain business vehicle insurance

If you have experience as a Care Assistant, Support Worker, Carer, HCA, Health Care Assistant or in the NHS we would love to hear from you.
