Bupa UK is seeking a Senior Care Assistant (Nights) at Cleveland House Care Home, 2 Cleveland Road, Edgerton, Huddersfield HD1 4PN. This permanent, full-time role offers a nights schedule with alternate weekends and a competitive hourly rate of £12.90–£14.51 depending on experience and qualifications.

You will lead a team of Care Assistants, support the nurse with clinical duties, and ensure accurate records while promoting person-centred care to help residents live their best lives.

Qualifications

• Motivated, positive with great interpersonal skills.
• Experience in running a care unit and supporting clinical duties.

Responsibilities

• Day-to-day responsibility for running a unit.
• Support with clinical duties, including observing, issuing medication, reviewing care plans and record keeping.
• Lead and manage a team of Care Assistants, including shift handovers.
• Train and supervise new staff; support residents and families; liaise with GPs and District Nurses.

You’ll Help Us Make Health Happen By

• Day-to-day responsibility for running a unit
• Supporting with clinical duties, including supporting the nurse to observe, issue medication, review care plans and accurate record keeping
• Driving and managing a team of Care Assistants, including responsible for all shift handovers of the teams
• Helping with training and supervision of new staff members so they feel welcomed and supported
• Building relationships with residents, their families and external teams such as GPs and District Nurses
• Assisting residents with a range of personal care duties

Key Skills / Qualifications Needed For This Role

• You’ll have completed / working towards an NVQ3 in care. We’re more than happy to support you in the completion of your qualification if needed.
• You're motivated, positive and with great interpersonal skills, and you enjoy working in a close-knit team. You’re pivotal in running a unit, working with the Nurse to aid with clinical duties for the home.
• You have previous experience of the role and knowledge of its rewards and challenges. Just as importantly, you also have a passion for making a real difference to people’s lives, giving them the kindness, personalised support and dignity they need.
