Job description

Job Title: Senior Care Assistant at HC One

As a Senior Care Assistant at HC One, kindness is at the core of everything you do. It influences every aspect of our Dementia, Nursing, Residential, and Specialist care homes. Everyone here understands that our residents are individuals with their own stories, and joining us offers a wonderful opportunity to give back to them.

Your responsibilities include planning and implementing care that promotes residents' security, dignity, and independence. You will get to know residents and their families to ensure the delivery of personalized care plans. Leading a team of Care Assistants, you will maintain high standards of care and influence your team positively. Whether demonstrating how to use a walking frame, assisting at meal times, or communicating with families, kindness is your guiding principle.

You will assist the Registered Nurse and Care Manager in providing physical and mental stimulation through social and recreational activities, as well as administering medication. Maintaining accurate records and building strong team relationships are also key responsibilities.

Ideally, you will have completed a Level 2 Diploma in Adult Care (S/NVQ) and be willing to pursue a Level 3 qualification or equivalent. Experience in person-centered care planning and caring for individuals with dementia is preferred. Essential qualities include positive energy, excellent communication, time management, and a considerate, kind approach.

About HC One

At HC One, kindness is more than a word; it is our belief that caring for people means caring about what matters most to them, enabling them to lead their best lives.

Safeguarding and Training

Safeguarding is everyone's responsibility. You should be able to recognize signs of abuse, harm, or neglect and know how to respond. All colleagues will attend safeguarding training relevant to their role and seek advice or escalate concerns when necessary.

Benefits and Support

We provide comprehensive training and a variety of benefits to support your well-being and career development, including:

  • Paid Enhanced DBS/PVG
  • Competitive hourly rate based on experience and qualifications
  • Free uniform
  • Nutritious meals during shifts of eight hours or more
  • Company pension scheme
  • 28 days annual leave including bank holidays
  • Group life assurance
  • Wagestream for flexible pay access
  • Learning and development opportunities
  • GP online service for you and your children under 16
  • Colleague discounts at many retail partners
  • Employee Assistance Programme for mental, physical, and financial support
  • Recognition schemes like 'Kindness in Care' and Long Service Awards
  • Refer a friend scheme up to £1000
