Job summary

Avery Healthcare is seeking a warm, enthusiastic Senior Care Assistant for South Lodge Care Home in Leicester. You will work with the care team to deliver high standards of personal care in a safe, caring and inclusive environment for residents, visitors and staff.

The ideal candidate will have an NVQ 3 in care and at least 2 years of experience in a similar setting, with strong communication skills and a flexible, supportive approach to residents and colleagues.

Qualifications

• NVQ 3 or equivalent in care for care homes.
• 2 years experience in a similar care environment.
• Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
• Positive attitude to supporting and nurturing residents and staff.
• Be responsive and flexible to cover a range of responsibilities.

Responsibilities

• Monitor the wellbeing of residents and update care plans as needed.
• Participate in person-centred care planning and monthly evaluations.
• Support residents with medication requirements.
• Undertake staff supervisions and support staff development.
• Act as a key contact for residents, relatives and health/care professionals and address requests or concerns.

ABOUT THE ROLE

Your focus as a Senior Care Assistant will be tosupportand work alongside the Care team to deliver high standards of personal care, providing a safe, caring, innovative, open,supportive, andinclusiveenvironment for residents, visitors and staff.

Other responsibilities will include:

• Monitoringthe wellbeing of each resident, being aware of any changeimpactingon care and care plans, ensuring that new needs aremet,and written records are amended to reflect any variation.
• Beinginvolved in the person-centred care planning process, by implementing,monitoring,and undertaking monthly evaluations.
• Supporting residents with their medication requirements.
• Undertaking staff supervisions and supporting staff with their development where required.
• Actingas a key point for contact with residents, theirrelativesand visitors, as well as health and social care professionals involved in their wellbeing, ensuring that any reasonable requests are actedupon,and concerns or complaints are escalated.
