Job summary

Avery Healthcare's Glenmoor House Care Home in Corby is seeking a warm, enthusiastic Senior Care Assistant to join our award-winning team. You will deliver high standards of personal care, support residents with daily living, and work with the care team to maintain a safe, inclusive environment for residents, visitors and staff.

A DBS check is required and eligibility to work in the UK is confirmed. We offer a caring, supportive workplace that values respect and teamwork as we help residents

Qualifications

  • NVQ 3 or equivalent in care for care homes.
  • 2 years experience in similar care environment.
  • Effective written and verbal communication.
  • Positive attitude towards residents and staff.
  • Flexible to cover a range of responsibilities.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor residents' wellbeing and care plans, updating records as needed.
  • Contribute to person-centred care planning and monthly evaluations.
  • Support residents with medication requirements.
  • Participate in staff supervision and development.
  • Serve as a key point of contact for residents, relatives and professionals, escalating concerns when necessary.

ABOUT THE ROLE

Your focus as a Senior Care Assistant will be tosupportand work alongside the Care team to deliver high standards of personal care, providing a safe, caring, innovative, open,supportive, andinclusiveenvironment for residents, visitors and staff. Other responsibilitieswillinclude:

  • Monitoringthe wellbeing of each resident, being aware of any changeimpactingon care and care plans, ensuring that new needs aremet,and written records are amended to reflect any variation.
  • Beinginvolved in the person-centred care planning process, by implementing,monitoring,and undertaking monthly evaluations.
  • Supporting residents with their medication requirements.
  • Undertaking staff supervisions and supporting staff with their development where required.
  • Actingas a key point for contact with residents, theirrelativesand visitors, as well as health and social care professionals involved in their wellbeing, ensuring that any reasonable requests are actedupon,and concerns or complaints are escalated.

  • Have an NVQ 3 or equivalent in care for care homes.
  • Have 2 years experience working in similar care environment.
  • Have the ability tocommunicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
  • Have a positive attitude to bothsupporting and nurturing residents and staff.
  • Beresponsive and flexible to cover a range of responsibilities.
