About the Role

As a Senior Care Assistant for Maria Mallaband Care Group we ask you to care for our residents like they are your own family, caring for their Physical, Psychological and Social needs. Assisting residents with personal care activities such as washing, personal hygiene, dressing and assisting with meals. We would love to hear from you if you have previously worked as a Senior Care Assistant, Senior Care Giver, Homecare Worker, in Social Care or as a Community Support Worker.

We offer our care staff flexible hours on full or part time basis over the 7 day week to offer a good work-life balance.

*Candidates must have their level 2, with Senior Care experience and be willing to complete their Level 3 Health & Social Care qualification (if not already obtained) in order to be considered for this role.

Glennie House Care Home

Situated in the rural village of Auchinleck in East Ayrshire, Glennie House is a purpose built 52 bedded care home which offers specialist nursing, residential and dementia care. The home also offers respite stays on a long term and short term basis to give home carers a much-needed break. Facilities at home include en-suite bedrooms, spacious lounges, an on-site hair salon, attractive grounds with secure residents†garden and a guest room which relatives can reserve for overnight stays. Wheelchair access is available throughout. A restaurant standard kitchen provides freshly prepared meals tailored to the residents†preferences and needs. Care manager Jill Veitch is an experienced manager and is qualified as a general nurse. The home offers excellent training and support to the care team to allow them to take care of the varied needs of residents, from specialist support to general assistance with everyday activities, while also respecting the residents†need to live independent and dignified lives. The home also offers training, information and support to the relatives of residents to help them better understand the treatment and care requirements of their loved-one. The home benefits from having built good relationships with the local council, GPs, physiotherapists, district nurses, social workers and other visiting healthcare professionals. The Activities Coordinators at Glennie House provide a full programme of activities, entertainment and events for residents to choose from. The home maintains strong community links and access to a mini bus means that residents can enjoy day trips out.
