Overview

Senior Care Assistant (ASH01VB) at Ashley Park Care Home, The Street, West Clandon, Guildford GU4 7SU. CQC rating: Good. Salary: £12.95 - £14.52 per hour depending on experience.

Role

As a Senior Care Assistant, you will drive a team of Care Assistants that deliver high quality, personal care to residents, while also inspiring, developing, and nurturing them to be their best every day. You will help us deliver clinically excellent care and support the home with digital care initiatives.

Responsibilities
  • Day-to-day responsibility for running a unit
  • Supporting with clinical duties, including assisting the nurse to observe, issue medication, review care plans and accurate record keeping
  • Driving and managing a team of Care Assistants, including responsibility for all shift handovers
  • Helping with training and supervision of new staff to ensure they feel welcomed and supported
  • Building relationships with residents, their families and external teams such as GPs and District Nurses
  • Assisting residents with a range of personal care duties
Key Skills / Qualifications
  • You’ll have completed / be working towards an NVQ3 in care. We’re happy to support you in completing your qualification if needed.
  • Motivated, positive with great interpersonal skills, and able to work in a close-knit team. You’ll be pivotal in running a unit and aiding with clinical duties in collaboration with the Nurse.
  • Experience in the role with knowledge of its rewards and challenges, plus a passion for making a real difference in residents’ lives with kindness, personalised support and dignity.
