A healthcare company in Gosport is seeking an experienced Senior Carer to lead a dedicated care team. Responsibilities include delivering quality care, supporting residents with daily activities, and providing guidance to care assistants. About the role:
We are currently seeking an experienced and compassionate Senior Carer to join our team in our residential home in Gosport. You will work closely with the care team and management to deliver quality care and provide leadership and guidance to care assistants.
This role is ideal for someone with a strong background in care who is looking to take the next step in their career or further develop their supervisory skills.
Shifts will be variable and between the hours of:
· 07:00 – 19:00 Monday - Sunday
You will be required to work a minimum of alternative weekends and provide on call cover.
Responsibilities:
· Act as a key worker to residents and lead by example.
· Support residents with personal care, mobility, nutrition, hydration, continence, and skin care in line with individual care plans.
· Run the shift effectively, ensuring continuity and quality of care throughout the day or night.
· Undertake medication rounds, administer medication safely, and ensure accurate documentation.
· Provide emotional, spiritual, and end-of-life care.
· Carry out regular assessments, reviews, and updates of care plans.
· Monitor residents' health and wellbeing, reporting any changes promptly to the appropriate professionals.
· Provide leadership and guidance to care staff and support with staff inductions.
· Complete regular one-to-one supervisions and competency checks.
· Maintain accurate care records and ensure compliance with regulatory standards.
· Support a culture of respect, dignity, and independence for all residents.
· Promote good infection control and adhere to Health and Safety practices.
· Work closely with families, professionals, and external stakeholders to ensure coordinated, person-centred care.

Requirements:
· NVQ Level 3 in Health and Social Care or equivalent – Desirable
· Previous experience in a care assistant or senior care role – Essential
· Strong leadership and communication skills
· Compassionate and empathetic approach to care
· Good understanding of safeguarding, risk assessment, and confidentiality
· Must have the right to work in the UK
· Flexible and reliable with a proactive attitude
