Job Description - Senior Care Assistant

Introduction

We are seeking a Senior Care Assistant to join our team at The Manor House in Birkenhead. As a Senior Care Assistant, you will play a crucial role in delivering person-centred care to our residents, supporting their independence and honouring their choices.

We offer a competitive salary of £12.95 - £14.52 per hour, depending on experience, and a range of benefits, including free access to 24/7 health support, annual allowance, and flexible working.

Responsibilities

As a Senior Care Assistant, your responsibilities will include:

  • Day-to-day responsibility for running a unit
  • Supporting with clinical duties, including observing, issuing medication, reviewing care plans, and accurate record keeping
  • Driving and managing a team of Care Assistants, including responsible for all shift handovers of the teams
  • Helping with training and supervision of new staff members
  • Building relationships with residents, their families, and external teams such as GPs and District Nurses
  • Assisting residents with a range of personal care duties
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • An NVQ3 in care or be working towards it (we can support you in completing your qualification)
  • Previous experience in a similar role and knowledge of its rewards and challenges
  • Motivation, positive attitude, and great interpersonal skills
  • A passion for making a real difference to people’s lives, giving them kindness, personalised support, and dignity
