Job Description

What you’ll do

The role of the Senior Care Assistant is to support the delivery of high-quality care support services by carrying out various functions, including assessing and reviewing individual services, and supervising, instructing, and supporting care workers.

Working with Care Coordinators to support the planning of realistic, effective care worker rotas, considering the needs of individuals and the skills of workers. Conducting regular reviews of services, including needs and risk assessments. Participating in multidisciplinary reviews of service users’ needs. Shadowing new care workers to ensure competence. Conducting on-site observations and evaluations of care worker practice as part of routine supervision or in response to performance concerns.

Senior Care Assistants primarily work in the community but also perform some office-based administrative tasks.

Qualifications

What you’ll need

Experience in conducting initial risk and needs assessments for individual service users, either in their homes or in settings such as hospitals or residential/nursing homes. Ability to work in partnership with service users, families, carers, advocates, healthcare professionals, and others to deliver holistic care support.
