Job summary

Avery Healthcare is seeking a Senior Care Assistant for Westwood Care Home in Sheringham. You will work with the care team to provide high standards of personal care in a safe, caring environment for residents, visitors and staff.

You will support with medication, participate in care planning, and supervise staff. DBS check and UK eligibility verification are required as part of the onboarding process.

Qualifications

• Must have an NVQ 3 or equivalent in care for care homes.
• At least 2 years’ experience working in a similar care environment.
• Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
• Positive attitude toward supporting and nurturing residents and staff.
• Be responsive and flexible to cover a range of responsibilities.

Responsibilities

• Monitor residents' wellbeing and reflect changes in care plans.
• Participate in person-centred care planning and monthly evaluations.
• Support residents with medication requirements.
• Supervise staff and support staff development.
• Be a key contact for residents, relatives, and health/care professionals, escalating concerns as needed.

About The Role

Your focus as a Senior Care Assistant will be to support and work alongside the Care team to deliver high standards of personal care, providing a safe, caring, innovative, open, supportive, and inclusive environment for residents, visitors and staff.

Other Responsibilities Will Include

• Monitoring the wellbeing of each resident, being aware of any change impacting on care and care plans, ensuring that new needs are met, and written records are amended to reflect any variation.
• Being involved in the person-centred care planning process, by implementing, monitoring, and undertaking monthly evaluations.
• Supporting residents with their medication requirements.
• Undertaking staff supervisions and supporting staff with their development where required.
• Acting as a key point for contact with residents, their relatives and visitors, as well as health and social care professionals involved in their wellbeing, ensuring that any reasonable requests are acted upon, and concerns or complaints are escalated.
