Job summary

Balhousie Care Group is seeking a dedicated Senior Carer to provide compassionate, person-centred care to residents. You will support the clinical team with medication, assessments, and care plans, while supervising Carers and collaborating with the Nurse on duty.

A flexible approach to shifts and a caring nature are essential. The role emphasises dignity, individual needs, and high-quality care within a supportive home environment.

Qualifications

• SVQ/NVQ Level 3 or Advanced Diploma in Health & Social Care.
• Experience in person-centred care planning and knowledge of dementia.
• Successful candidates must be eligible to work in the UK; PVG check required; no sponsorship.

You’ll deliver person-centred care to our residents to ensure they retain their dignity and individuality. Additionally, you’ll supervise and inspire a team of dedicated Care Assistants, working alongside the Nurse on duty.

Your Role Will Involve:

• Supporting the clinical team with medication administration, assessments, care plans, and care reviews.
• Supervising and mentoring other Carers.
• Assisting with personal care activities such as washing, personal hygiene, dressing, and helping with meals.

About You:

Cheerful, caring, and compassionate by nature, you’ll have good reading, writing, and communication skills and be flexible enough to work shifts. You’ll be passionate about care and making a difference in people’s lives.

You will need to have an SVQ/NVQ Level 3 or Advanced Diploma in Health & Social Care. Experience in person-centred care planning and knowledge of caring for people with dementia is desirable. Previous experience working in a Care Home environment is advantageous but not essential, as full training will be provided.

Successful candidates are subject to satisfactory references and a PVG check and must be authorised to work in the UK. We no longer offer sponsorship.
