Job summary

University Hospitals of North Midlands NHS Trust in Stoke-on-Trent is seeking a Senior Clinical Perfusionist to join the Cardiothoracic Surgery team. The role requires full UK CCPS registration and a minimum of three years post-qualification experience, with leadership and teaching responsibilities.

You will contribute to perfusion services, participate in on-call rotas, and drive innovation while ensuring patient safety and high-quality clinical care.

Qualifications

• Full UK registration with the College of Clinical Perfusion Scientists.
• Three years post-qualification experience or relevant exposure.
• Experience in cardiothoracic perfusion and bypass management.

Responsibilities

• Clinically manage temporary replacement of a patient’s cardiopulmonary function for cardiac surgery.
• Operate heart-lung machine and auxiliary equipment during procedures to maintain patient condition.
• Lead on evaluating, implementing and teaching new perfusion technologies.
• Complete accurate clinical documentation for audit and QA.
• Participate fully in the on-call rota.
