Job description

Barts Health NHS Trust is a world-class centre for cardiology medicine, inherited cardiac disease and other specialties where cutting edge medicinal device, pioneering therapies and interventional clinical trials have always been valued and supported, bringing us to the frontline of cardiology disease management. We currently have a vacancy for a dynamic, motivated nurse to work in the busy Cardiology Research Department within Barts Heart Centre, the biggest cardiovascular centre in Europe. It will be a fixed term post for 12 months with a potential to extend on a rolling basis.

Main duties of the job

The primary responsibility for this post holder is to coordinate and support the delivery of cardiovascular clinical trials at Barts Heart Center. Also, they need to provide clinical and research knowledge to the multi-professional team and take responsibility for the setup, delivery, and management of our portfolio of cardiovascular CTIMPs/ATIMPs and/or medical devices. The post-holder will mainly be based within the Cardiology Research Department at the Barts Heart Centre and the National Institute for Health and Care Research Barts Biomedical Research Centre (NIHR Barts BRC). You will be a research nurse with a minimum of 2 years' experience at Band 6 or above, with demonstrable experience in the care of cardiology patients and strong understanding of cardiovascular research. The postholder will provide line management and supervision to the research team. You must demonstrate strong organisational, interpersonal and communication skills, be computer literate, flexible and be able to manage your own time effectively.
